With more than 300 million web pages on the internet today, users turn to search engines, directories and link sites to find what they are looking for. There are thousands of these search sites, and while many will index your site for free,  they must know about it. To accomplish this, a site must be submitted to each one, a task that would take months to do manually.

Net Actions can accomplish this same task for you. We employ submission software that includes a database of over 1000 search engines, directories and link sites to promote your site. Submission is fully automated, and a listing with these engines can increase your web site traffic.

Because of their importance, each site is submitted manually to the top 10 search engines. While this process is laborious, it affords us the opportunity to employ subtle professional techniques to each engine as experience requires. These techniques can sometimes make the difference between a good ranking on major search engines and a weak one. It also insures that the submission process completes properly and if not, the site is scheduled for re-submission.

One reason we submit to the hundreds of link sites is because of the trend among the major engines toward counting link popularity as part of their own ranking algorithms. The theory being that the more a site is referenced elsewhere on the web, the more important it must be.

Clients should provide;

• The url of the home page of the site (ex http://www.mydomain.com)
• The Title of the Site (should include as many keywords while remaining readable)
• Username and password (some engines require this for making changes later)
• Up to 4 key words or key phrases to target
• Up to 25 words describing the site (including keywords but readable to users)
• Suggest an appropriate category and sub-category for those sites that require it.
• Contact Information (your name, email address, mail address, company name, phone)

DISCLAIMER

• Client sites are submitted only to a subset of the total database of search sites.
• We do not submit where appropriate categories (if required) do not exist.
• We do not submit to regional sites unless the client site resides within that region (e.g. U.S. based sites are not submitted to Canada only engines)
• We do not submit to specialized search sites unless the client site matches that specialty (e.g. manufacturing related companies are not submitted to travel related search engines). 
• Submitting your site to an engine does not guarantee that it will be listed.
• Sites can and do drop out of engines over time.
• Search sites vary wildly as to how long it takes to list a client site. Some take months to list the site, while others index the submission instantly.  Generally optimal results are realized 4-6 weeks after submission and begin to erode over time.
• The Basic Plan does not include submission to Yahoo! A Yahoo Listing is too involved (if done correctly) and important (to a sites total traffic) to submit without personal consultation between Net Actions and the client.
